3hree Things: Songs That Seem Apropos For Today

Watch out for 3hree Things every Tuesday, in which Riley Breckenridge, drummer of Orange County's favorite local alt-rock band Thrice, gives his take on life in Southern California as an OC native.

In light of the news that we (Thrice) recently announced, I figured this week would probably be as good a week as any to take a breather from the usual ranting and raving here and post some tunes that seem apropos for a break, a break up, or a hiatus. These are classics, and I'm sure you've all heard them hundreds of times, but music has the power to make situations that are a bummer in many ways not seem like such a bummer. They're helping me anyway.

This is not the time or place for any statements of mine regarding the announcement, but the Beatles probably said it best: “Life Goes On.” Here's to closing one book (or perhaps just putting it on the shelf for a bit), and starting a new one.

I'll be back at full strength next week. Thanks for your understanding. And, as always, thanks for reading.
