A burger stand that straddles the comfortable middle between dives and boutiques, G Burger is in a squat stand-alone building in a dead part of town with splashed-paint framed art on the walls, groovy music and an open kitchen in which you can observe burgers being constructed to towering heights. With so many toppings they becomes caricatures of themselves, these seemingly living, breathing creations desperately want to be eaten by Adam Richman or Guy Fieri. In addition to salad greens, tomatoes, onions and a cheese of your choice, a G Burger can potentially contain a pile-up of everything on the toppings list--which includes teriyaki-glazed onions, Portobello mushrooms, slaw, grilled pineapple, a fried jumbo egg, pastrami, avocado, chili and, of course, bacon. The checklist common to the Counter and Fuddruckers is nonexistent here. You don't tell the cashier what you want; you tell him what you don't.
