You may already be familiar with Banh Mi Che Cali, the banh mi shop that Vietnamese food noobs graduate to after they realize Lee's Sandwiches' bread is tougher on the roof of their mouths than Kryptonite on Superman. This expansion to a sit down restaurant is a departure for the chain. While they do a decent bowl of pho, the beef stew is almost inedible and sometimes the rice they cook for their BBQ combo plates is so overcooked it tastes like paste. And worse, they don't even offer banh mi here. If you dare ask for one, the waiters, who seem like they'd rather be someplace else, will wordlessly point you in the direction of the sandwich shop located on the other side of the parking lot.
