Edwin Goei Bistro Champagne Lemonade

Paul Martin's American Bistro has to have some of the friendliest waitresses in the business. We nearly fell in love with ours. Since we couldn't propose marriage, we ended up just leaving a bigger than average tip. And since the tab here is going to run you in the double digits for a party of two, we're pretty sure she and her other server are well-compensated for the great work they do. The rib-eye steak is expensive, but is a fine piece of meat, served with a smooth as silk mashed potatoes and nothing else. The trout is splayed open and gets seared to get deep-dark grill marks that accounts for most of its flavor. But the best part of dining here that you simply can't refuse her offer of dessert. Get the banana cream pie, which seems too good to be true, just as some of the waitresses here seem to be.
