Oggi's in Tustin took the place of Tony's Sea Landing, a seafood restaurant long-forgotten once the next outpost of this unpretentious microbrewery-and-pizza chain moved in. Almost every inch of wall not covered by sports memorabilia has a flat-screen on it. With so many monitors, you feel as though you're in a ESPN communications control room or perhaps a Vegas sports-betting venue. There's not much you don't already know about the menu. Its specialty is a pie of bulbous crust and thickness, served on stilts, most of the time overburdened by meats. Beers are served by the pitcher. Happy hours see discounts on almost all of the appetizers. The hot wings have an Italian bent that still burns the throat. The fried calamari comes in thick tangle of batter, tentacles and meat, meant to be dipped in marinara and a thick-as-sludge Cajun aioli that will stress-test the cholesterol pills you took. And if you want to say "fuck it" to common sense, get the Oggi Stix for an appetizer. It's essentially a cheese pizza cut into strips instead of wedges. Who says you can't chase your pizza with pizza?
