If you like Todai, you'll love Makino. This buffet is the next AYCE empire of by the creator of Todai. He already field tested this newest concept in Las Vegas, the land of buffets where it has held its own and flourished. Now with this Irvine branch, it does battle with the Todais and all the others that want to be Todai. Makino is better than Todai, and the people who would go to buffets flock to feast here like it was the only AYCE in town. Sushi rolls are immaculate, made fresh in perpetuity and with as much care as at a sushi bar that would charge by the piece. Little dollops of fish eggs add color, a squiggle of sauce accents with flavor.
