In this tiny--and we mean miniscule--satellite location of the Costa Mesa original, you can get burrito so massive and crammed full of meat it seems antithetical to where you're eating it. And you get your choice too: chicken from a rotisserie that's now practically melted into puddles; al pastor in all of its sweet-and-spicy splendor; tender carne asada; and carnitas piled as high as Mt. Baldy. What's even more amazing: the meats can also be used to fill made-to-order taquitos. Say chicken and your taquero will take a wad of chicken meat from the tray, chop it up to bits with his cleaver, deposit them into a bowl, add a flurry of cheese and then pile them onto discs of fresh corn tortillas before they're rolled into fat cigars fastened shut by a toothpick. Then--plop, plop, plop--in they go into a deep fryer. Five minutes later, you're eating the crunchiest, freshest, meat-bursting taquitos you've ever had.

I've been doing it all wrong. Or perhaps more to the point, the fast-food joints where I've been ordering taquitos up to now have been doing it all wrong. Why do I think this? Because I believe I've found a place where taquitos are ...
