The servers aren't Japanese. The cooks probably aren't either. But this is probably the most Japanese diner south of Little Tokyo. Why? Well, first of all, it has a library of manga--an entire curated collection full of fantasy, adventure and comedy cartoons in a separate room that any connoisseur would consider Mecca. Then there are great dishes like asparagus with bacon, donburi this and udon that. They have a green tea shaved ice thing that requires two people to conquer, chock to the brim with fruit and red beans sweeter than a schoolgirl's giggle.
