The lure of the Mickey Mouse waffle is great. When you're at Disneyland during breakfast hours, it's programmed into your cerebral cortex. Is it because of the artificial vanilla scent the candy shops pump into the air? Whatever it is, no tourist who knows they exist for the consumption is immune to their pull. This is why there's always a line at Carnation Cafe in the morning. Mickey waffles, with lots of butter, please, and keep the maple syrup coming. But you should come for dinner too, where the kitchen makes one of the best boneless pieces of fried chicken in OC. Or try the meat loaf, a hunk of tomato-y, beefy mush and softness so big and homey it's almost enough to eclipse the memory of that Mickey waffle you had earlier. Almost.
