The 3rd annual Art In The Park exhibition to benefit Long Beach’s historic Bixby Park will take place Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Bixby Park Bandshell from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. "Residents and visitors have been recommending art in the park at Bixby Park for years," explained Art in the Park Organizer Nancy O'Neill. "We are so thrilled to put this event together for local art lovers and at the same time raise funds for Bixby Park renovations." This exhibition will feature twenty local fine artists in a colorful and whimsical setting. Artists will exhibit a variety of art including paintings, drawings, ceramics, stained glass, jewelry, sculpture, photography, and printmaking. Artwork on display will be sold to the public. Each artist will make a donation to the park to participate. This year Arts Council, Long Beach has generously sponsored five C.S.U.L.B. fine art students to participate in the exhibition. During the event guests will enjoy live music performed by the bands Second Wind, and Per Se. Picnic box lunches will be available at Park Pantry (562-434-0451), Paradise Piano Bar and Restaurant (562-590-8773), Olive’s Gourmet Grocer (562-439-7758), and Café Ambrosia (562-432-1098) for $10. Call and order your box lunches and pick them up on the way to the park. A portion of the proceeds from the box lunches will be donated to the Parcel 1 Renovation Project. Bring your family and friends to the park to enjoy a fun, cultural day of art and music. This annual fundraiser and exhibition hosted by Friends of Bixby Park is a free event and open to the public. Proceeds from this event will go toward Parcel 1 Renovation Project. Bixby Park is located on the corner of 1st and Junipero Streets in Long Beach- between Broadway Avenue and Ocean Avenue.
