Tokyo Godfathers. This quirky and vibrant film centers on a trio of unlikely parental figures— a middle aged alcoholic, a former, aging drag queen and a runaway girl— who discover an abandoned newborn in the garbage with a note and few clues to her parents' identity. The threesome search through the city to find the baby's parents, encountering all manner of unsavory characters and dangerous situations with hit men, gangsters and characters in disguise. In the process, all three lives are changed as they grow closer and closer to the innocent child, aptly named Sachiko (translating to “pure child”) in their altruistic mission.
