The Coen Brothers have far defined themselves as some of the most prolific directors in cinema, with Oscars on their mantles, an upcoming retrospective in Sacramento, and a TV series adapted from their classic film Fargo. But of all the memorable characters they've ever created, let's face it: The Big Lebowski is number one (and that's not just our opinion, man). Starring Jeff Bridges as the disheveled, White Russian-loving Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski, who with his two buddies Donny and Walter Sobchak (the inimitable John Goodman) gets mixed up in a case of mistaken identity, a phony ransom plot, and the worst part? They peed on his rug. Whole festivals have been devoted to El Duderino, and after checking out this film— presented on the big screen tonight— it's not hard to see why.
