When it was announced earlier this year that the upcoming Lionel Richie/Mariah Carey joint headlining tour would be postponed, fans feared the worst. Richie’s knee surgery threatened to be a problematic twist for this anticipated run, but those fears proved to be unfounded. Though the jaunt was shortened from 35 to 22 dates, the fact remains that two of the most popular R&B singers performing together is enough for fans to patiently await the celebrated show. Billed as ‘All the Hits,’ there may not be a tour this summer that sees the artists singing as many top songs as this one does. While their primes may be in the past, Richie and Carey remain pop music icons and this tour could be a nice way of reintroducing them to a fresh set of fans.
