What does balsamic vinegar and sparkling red wine have in common? Yes, they both have Italian ancestry and yes, they are both delicious, but they also have the same origin; the lambrusco grape! October is the peak of this vine ripened harvest exclusive to Italy’s picturesque wine provinces, and CUCINA enoteca is Newport Beach’s resident master of these vibrant purple fruits. For this “Lambrusco Harvest Dinner”, a lambrusco specialist will be on-site ready to educate guests on the harvesting process, and all the gastronomic creations reaped from these grapes. A special prix-fixe family-style feast, Executive Chef Joe Magnanelli and Chef de Cuisine Cesar Sarmiento will be whipping up three courses of rustic foods traditionally enjoyed in Italy during the time of the harvest, accompanied by an epicurean showcase of balsamic vinegar. This intimate dinner will be limited to 20 guests, and feature California-inspired ltalian culinary concoctions of cheese + charcuterie, salad, duck, whole fish, and dessert. All beverages are available for purchase a la carte.
