While women artists have been a part of art history since the Baroque era (or even farther than that), the wave of women artists to emerge out of the 1970s is significant, partly due to the changing political tides both in and out of the art world. Thanks to curator Margaret Garcia, we'll have a comprehensive look at the women artists who shaped the Los Angeles art scene of that period with with their exquisite paintings. Featuring Garcia herself with Sandra Cornejo, Kikki Edder, June Edmonds, Zara Gomez and Amy Inouye and over ten more, this exhibit showcases the broad spectrum of women painters that sought to express their perspectives of the world around them, inspiring generations after them.
