Fresh off a plaudits-earning Coachella set, it’s easy to comprehend why Chicano Batman are a band on the rise. The Los Angeles natives have wowed local audiences for nearly a decade since their inception, but high profile opening slots for the likes of Temple of the Dog and Jack White have thrusted the band before a larger, wider audience. Their latest album, Freedom Isn’t Free was released in March and has entrenched the band as the preeminent force in Latin alternative music. As they continue to push forward and their blending of genres evolves, don’t be surprised to hear the quartet taking over mainstream radio in the not-too-distant future.
