The Matsuko and Sati Yoshida Projects Space is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition, Cause for Concern, a new photographic installation by photographer Jesse Lee Vargas-Colucci.

The exhibition opens to the public on April 17th and will run through April 28th, 2017. An opening reception will be held Thursday April 20th, from 6-8pm.

For the past 15 years, Colucci has engaged in fine art training, remaining dedicated to a creative lifestyle while exploring many different mediums, including video, painting, performance and photography.

Educated at the Cleveland Institute of Art, University of Buffalo in New York and most recently the Orange Coast College School of Photography in California, Jesse is an emerging photographer investigating the boundaries of the commercial and fine art realms within her chosen medium. Working to expose truths while creating beauty, Colucci often finds the genres of portrait, still life and documentary complementary to her concepts.

Born in upstate New York in 1983, Jesse has traveled the world collaborating with musicians, dancers, writers and political activist. She has lived in Southern California for the past 10 years and plans to move abroad after receiving her Masters degree.

Within the past 24 months Jesse’s photographs have shown at Photo LA (2016/2017) and at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago. The recipient of a 2016 and 2017 fine art grant has allowed her to create this latest exhibit, her first solo show.
