Immediately after, guests may dine on a special 3-course menu with options of Wild Salmon, Duroc Pork Chop, Pacific Swordfish or Prime Flat Iron Steak for $55 (including a glass of white or red wine). A portion of the net proceeds will benefit UCPLA.
Ghoukassian said that the same 3-course meal will be available for dinner during the first week of May leading up to the exhibition titled, “Illuminating the Exceptional,” and a portion of those proceeds, too, will be earmarked for UCPLA.
“We are so proud to be partnering with UCPLA and shining the spotlight on these wonderful artists who, despite their developmental disabilities, are able to express their creativity so beautifully. They truly are an inspiration,” said Ghoukassian, who revealed that this year marks the restaurant’s 30th year in Irvine. “We hope to enjoy a wonderful turnout and, for those who can’t attend but want to show their support, they can order Chef Javier’s special meal knowing a portion of the proceeds will benefit this worthy organization.”

Bistango is OC’s #1 “power lunch” destination as voted by readers of the Orange County Register. This honor is but the latest praise heaped on the venerable, critically acclaimed restaurant renowned for its diverse menu of fine American cuisine by Executive Chef Javier Montoya. It is set in an airy atmosphere and features a dynamic and ever-evolving fine art exhibit curated by Antoinette Sullivan and restaurant owner John Ghoukassian.
Located in the lobby level of the iconic Atrium building in Irvine, Calif., the restaurant’s interior was conceived by Ghoukassian and designed by internationally renowned Michael Carapetian with the intent of creating the perfect backdrop for the restaurant’s extensive art exhibitions, which rotate quarterly.
Outside sits Bistango Gardens, whose mature trees, plants and flowers lend natural intimacy and an enormous circular fountain serves as its centerpiece. In addition to its 400-bottle wine list, which has been heralded by Wine Spectator, Bistango offers an extensive list of classic and specialty cocktails and 20 craft beers by the bottle, including some difficult to acquire selections.
Bistango serves lunch and dinner weekdays and dinner-only Saturdays. Live entertainment can be enjoyed each evening in its sophisticated lounge where couples may enjoy dancing the night away.
