Archaeology Month Double Header Lectures Dr. Waziri & Mr. Masekh

The virgin Marie of Guadalupe

In celebration of archaeology month, the Bowers Museum presents Dr. Mustafa Waziri and Mr. Salah El Masekh, all the way from Egypt!

Dr. Mustafa Waziri currently serves as General Director of Antiquities in Luxor, overseeing safety, conservation, and restoration of the sites, including the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Dr. Waziri holds his Ph. D. in History and Antiquities from the Egyptian Sohag University.

Mr. Salah El Masekh is currently serving as Chief Inspector of excavations at Karnak. During his time as Chief Inspector, Masekh has discovered several public Roman baths and has uncovered a harbor in front of the temple where the barge of Ahemn used to dock, revealing much about Karnak during the Roman time. Mr. Masekh is currently a Masters candidate at Cairo University.
