The OC Film Fiesta kicks off our best festival yet on Fri., Oct. 6 with the OC Premiere of CHAVELA, the powerful new documentary about ranchera legend Chavela Vargas. Festival highlights include Manolo Caro's side splitting Mexican comedy, La Vida Inmoral de la Pareja Ideal; the OC Premiere of The Rise and Fall of the Brown Buffalo, Phillip Rodriguez's amazing new doc about iconoclastic Gonzo writer Oscar Zeta Acosta; a rare screening of the original hilarious short film version of A Day Without A Mexican plus workshop with filmmakers Sergio Arau and Yareli Arizmendi; the US Premiere of Bolivian master Jorge Sanjinés' award-winning historical epic Juana Azurduy, about the legendary female general in Simon Bolivar's army; tribute to Chicano artist Magu; and a special 75th Anniversary Screening of Orson Welles' classic The Magnificent Ambersons at the Heritage Museum of OC. Festival passes are on sale now and include two weeks of film, fun, food, festivities and special guest stars in the heart of Santa Ana.
