"13th" Screening and Panel Q&A

Orange County Multi-Racial Collaborative presents a screening of award-winning documentary “13th” at The Frida Cinema in Santa Ana, followed by a panel discussion with people directly connected with the criminal justice system in Orange County from a variety of perspectives and experiences. Free admission.

Called a “must-see,” (Roger Ebert), “terrifying” (Tom Long, Detroit News), and “damning,” (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone), Ava Duvernay’s 2016 documentary assembles a shocking and unshakable challenge to America’s prison system, revealing how America’s extreme rate of criminalization is modern-day slavery.

“Come join us to engage in powerful conversation about what you already know, or to learn more so that that we can all take action from a place of knowledge,” said OC-MRC founder Karen Poffenberger.

Rolling Stone critic Peter Travers summarizes about 13th, “Don’t think it can't happen here – look around, it is happening. '13th' is a record of shame so powerful that it just might change things. Godspeed.”
