http://ticketURL: https://bootlegtheater.secure.force.com/ticket Based in a former 1930s warehouse, this brick-walled performance space hosts music, theater, dance and film events in a medium-size theater, which is adjoined by a more bare-bones bar, where indie-rock musicians are booked by the local promoters the Fold. Broken Bells, Joseph Arthur, Joan as Police Woman, the Living Sisters, David Kilgour, LA Font, Cass McCombs, Nicole Eva Emery, Funeral Party, Dan Stuart, Light FM and many other local and international musicians have ensconced themselves in the Bootleg. The beer and wine bar specializes in such bottled beers as La Fin du Monde and Delirium Tremens, alongside tap favorites like Manifesto and Golden Chaos. There's an outdoor patio in the back, surrounded by brick walls decorated with bright murals, where folks can get a breath of fresh air between sets. Shows are generally 21 & over. Street parking. Brea Improv

    120 S. Brea Blvd. Brea, CA 92821
    714-482-0700

http://brea.improv.com The Brea Improv is a comedy stage in Brea. In the tradition of Improv clubs nationwide, Brea manages to pull the biggest comedic giants (i.e., D.L. Hughley, Bob Saget and Jay Mohr) onto its classic comedy-club stage (the brick-wall background!). But the Improv is also home to some of the best local comedy around, including regular gut-busting shows such as "Comedy Juice" and "Slanted Eye Comedy with Edward San Juan." You can even find most of VH1's Best Week Ever cast making the rounds. Because Lord knows that cracking wise about '80s memorabilia while sitting in front of a green screen isn't going to pay ALL the bills. But the comedy isn't the only reason to choose the Brea Improv. With a full bar and a hearty selection of appetizers and entrées, there's plenty to fill up on before a good belly laugh. Just make sure to keep your food down when the comic cracks a joke about some other sucker in the front row, or you could be next. More >>
