    We've had fast food burgers and tacos up the yin-yang for years. Only now are we seeing the advent of its antidote: the salad. There are now more salad-serving upstarts to count. SaladRepublic is one of the newer ones and it, too, has franchise dreams like the rest of them. Salad Republic's salads are formidable, meant to be as filling as standalone meals. In the ahi salad, the greens are practically blotted out by the thick slab of the fish steak, which is grilled just to singe the outer surface. A halved avocado provides richness, a fistful of wonton strips crunch and when you finish the meal, you walk away thinking you've done a service to your diet.
