Nadine's Irish Mist

Nadine's Irish Mist

The live bands and karaoke nights hosted at Nadine's usually lay waste to Sunset Beach's sleepy reputation. But it's all in good fun at this rocking Irish pub.
Schooner at Sunset

Schooner at Sunset

Don't let the nautical theme fool you, there will be no stale grog served here. Rather you can choose from a sizable offering of craft brews and signature cocktails.
Crow's Cocktail's

Crow's Cocktail's

Yes this place holds about 50, but don't worry, handsome mirrors lend this joint the illusion of size. Enjoy a full bar, brews on tap and the eloquence of dive chic.

  • House of Eden

    House of Eden

    1189 E. Ash Ave. Fullerton, CA 92831
    714-447-0692

http://www.houseofeden.org A sign outside House of Eden, formerly Cali Girls, formerly Cherries, boasts that it's the best little topless bar in all So Cal-a bold statement that may elicit argument, but certainly a worthy destination for those who appreciate half-naked girls and stiff drinks. A $5 cover charge after 6 p.m. gets revelers access to a nice selection of draft and bottle beers, including Shock Top, Budweiser, Hefeweizen, Blue Moon and Dos Equis, as well as a decent selection of liquors. The girls here are friendly without the relentless hustling for cash sometimes found at other such venues. Large booths in the back of the bar allow for semi-private dances when not too crowded. • The Huddle

    The Huddle

741 Baker St. Costa Mesa, CA 92626
    714-540-0966

That unique blend of dive bar, sports bar and pseudo-hipster hangout, the Huddle is dimly lit, with surf boards hanging from the ceiling and a full complement of hard liquors. A rarity in the economically priced bar scene, the bar serves single-barrel whiskey; while you'll no doubt enjoy its one-of-a kind flavor, it'll cost you $8 per shot. If you don't have that kind of dough, try the PBR on tap. From 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., it's $2 a pint; after that, it jumps up to $2.50. There are also several pool tables and video games, including the ├╝ber-addictive golf game Golden Tee. Read more about this Orange County bar or club >>

  • Huntington Beach Beer Company

    Huntington Beach Beer Company

201 Main St. Huntington Beach, CA 92646
    714-960-5343

http://www.hbbeerco.com Like any brewpub, the things to get are simple American fare (try the Ortega burger or the fish and chips) and the house beer, especially the HB Blonde, which is very refreshing after a day out in the surf. Read more about this Orange County bar or club >>

  • Hurricanes Bar & Grill

    Hurricanes Bar & Grill

200 Main St. Huntington Beach, CA 92648
    714-374-0500

http://www.hurricanesbargrill.com Located on the second floor of the buildings that line Main Street in Huntington Beach, Hurricanes Bar & Grill combines the atmosphere of a lounge with the energy of a club. The joint features a dance floor made of squares that light up at varying intervals, reminiscent of John Travolta's famous dance scene in Saturday Night Fever. The bar offers a respectable selection of draft beers, including a beer of the month; a full liquor selection, with specialty cocktails and martinis; and Fetzer Valley Oaks wines by the glass. Granite tabletops and leather booths line the outdoor patio. Along with happy hour, Hurricanes also has Power Hour from 9 to 10 p.m. every night, with $2 off every cocktail. • Hy Roy Lounge

    Hy Roy Lounge

5050 Heil Ave. Huntington Beach, CA 92649
    714-846-9750

The gray exterior and lack of windows on this joint can definitely lead one to write it off as "seedy" before even taking a peek inside. But if you do dare venture inside, you'll see its just like any other local dive. The patrons generally know one another, the tenders are friendly and the drinks (and there are a good amount of them) are cheap. Hy Roy's is definitely a neighborhood bar, but it does have its charm. The checkered ceiling and red wallpaper give it an interesting look. There's even a jukebox there for good measure. Go there with buddies to shoot the breeze, shoot some pool, shoot some darts(you get the point) and enjoy a mean list of beers. Read more about this Orange County bar or club >>
