For those who love the idea of rotting flesh but aren't too into the stench, Long Beach is the place for you. This weekend, the undead return to our fair city for the 6th annual Zombie Walk. In order to contain the walkers, organizers close down three blocks of downtown Long Beach—from the Promenade to Pine Avenue—for hordes of animated corpses to peruse the streets. The contamination zone features two outdoor zombie movie screenings, concerts, horror vendors, games, contests, food, alcohol and more. Plus, you don’t have to be undead to participate, all are welcome. There will, however, be zombie makeup artists on site, should you choose to make the transition to the dark side. But heed this warning: If your undead face has flesh so rotten that bartenders cannot identify you when compared with your living human ID, you will sadly be shunned from drinking and forced to remain on your boring zombie diet of non-alcoholic brains.
