Young Frankenstein

That’s FRONK-enshteen to you, and if you stagger out of the most adorable—if not simply the best—of the Mel Brooks classics with nothing else scorched into your abby-normal brain, you’ll appreciate how noble it is for a man to follow a dream when no one believes in him or even cares to pronounce his name correctly. You’ll also appreciate a very special performance of “Puttin’ On the Ritz,” one of the most legendary Brooks set pieces ever, as well as an ensemble cast that achieved Arrested Development levels of precision comedic interaction. Reportedly one of Brooks’ own favorite films—“I love him!” he gushes at the sound of his own name as the original trailer opens—Young Frankenstein combines a cast and crew into a monster that (just like in the film) has more heart and smarts than anyone could have expected.
