Ya Gotta Hang On
It seems that every time you turn on the radio or T.V. someone is spouting about our current economic crisis. The Great Recession, as its come to be known, can certainly put a frown on even the happiest of faces. But, hey, things could be worse. You could be an orphan living with a drunk mistress who sets up an elaborate scheme to foil your adoption by a billionaire. Such is the tale of little orphan Annie, the most optimistic soul ever to be parentless during 1933s Great Depression. And despite her unfortunate circumstances, this beloved little girls story reminds us all that things will get better. So, if your home is experiencing its own little depression, bring the family to a showing of Annie Jr., a shortened version of the original musical. Packed with an upbeat plot and a cast of colorful characters, this tale of triumph can remind you that the sun will indeed come out tomorrow.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Feb. 13. Continues through March 22, 2009
