Winner of The Voice: Javier Colon

Sure, The Voice seems like the kind of program that a coked-out ‘80s executive imagined post-millennial television to be like (those spinning chairs…), but we can’t ignore the fact that actual talent came from the ‘80s (despite the overuse of keyboard), and actual talent comes from The Voice as well. Take last year's winner, Javier Colon, for example—his melodic R&B vocals, often accompanied by acoustic guitar, won him 100 grand and a recording contract with Universal Records. Now Colon is promoting his new album, Come Through for You, making a stop at the Coach House this week where he hopes to make more than just your chair spin.
