West Coast Film Festival

The West Coast Film Festival is back for its fourth year, offering a slew of vintage and modern classics, only one of which stars a person of color and only three of which (out of 12) have a female lead. Nonetheless, you can once again enjoy on the big screen masterpieces such as Goodfellas, The Shawshank Redemption, A Clockwork Orange, Amadeus, King Kong, and those wisecrackers, the Marx Brothers, in A Night at the Opera, and look at a few pretty girls like Grace Kelly (To Catch a Thief), Leslie Caron (GiGi) and Judy Garland (The Wizard of Oz). Then you can drop the organizers a note and ask that next year they consider something from Sidney Poitier, and maybe even a little Klute or Alien. Thelma & Louise might just cause a “men’s rights” riot, after all…
