Venus Infers CD Release

The previous effort from Huntington Beach’s Venus Infers, 2008’s The Truth About Venus Infers, was one of the most celebrated local records of that year, netting three OC Music Awards and landing the band impressive opening gigs for national acts such as Chris Cornell and Peter Murphy. The tough part comes when following up on all that praise and producing a new album. With the arrival of You’ll Understand When You’re Older, Venus Infers are putting on an album-release show at big-time venue the Grove of Anaheim, it’s on an outdoor stage outside the venue, sure, but the message is still clear. Based on the album’s first single, “(They Stole Today But They Won’t Take Away) Tomorrow,” lead singer Davis Fetter and company are sticking with the sound that scored them trophies and face time with superstars, wearing their ’90s Brit-pop/early ’00s indie influences on their leather-jacketed sleeves and relishing in a soaring chorus.
