Vaude-Nouveau

If a picture’s worth a thousand words, head to Dancing Tehani’s website for a visual Summa Theologica. Take a second to dig on the photo of a young lady juggling several massive rings of fire. It’s hard to imagine a show in a bar getting better than that, but apparently, Don the Beachcomber has more in store, teaming up with world-class fire dancer Tehani Sarreal to put on a vaudeville-style show for its merry revelers and intrigued imbibers in Huntington Beach. Thursday sees magic and comedy acts, or perhaps a beat-boxing flautist performing alongside Tehani, who does everything from spinning fire to balancing swords on her head while belly-dancing. It has all the trappings of classic vaudeville entertainment and then some, minus the trained-animal acts, of course: Tehani doesn’t support that—and we support her.

Thursdays, 8 p.m. Starts: July 14. Continues through Sept. 1, 2011
