Uh Huh Her

LA duo Uh Huh Her named their most recent album Future Souls to honor—and hopefully keep alive—that certain undefinable human something that makes even electronic music something more than just data in meticulous order. And the result is an album of demonstrative, anthemic synth-pop, with '80s classics like Depeche Mode, the Psychedelic Furs and New Order all present in spirit if not in substance. (But pretty often in substance, too.) They’re touring as a three-piece with only an opening DJ this time, the better to set up sort of a low-key art gallery show feel—but that also means these songs are just going to have that much more space to expand. Their future is here, and they saved you a spot up front.
