Treasure Hunters Roadshow

Think that Treasure Hunters Roadshow, a touring show in which collectors sell their various accumulations, sounds a lot like Antiques Roadshow, the long-running PBS television series? You know who else thought that? WGBH, the producers of Antiques Roadshow, who last spring filed a lawsuit against Treasure Hunters Roadshow, claiming trademark violation and unfair business practices. But the two shows are pretty different: While the point of Antiques Roadshow is merely to give expert appraisals, Treasure Hunters Roadshow actually pays out money for items that are brought in, such as metals—silver, gold, coins, jewelry—and standard collectible items, including comic books, watches and historical documents.
