The Wedding Singer

Remember back in the ’90s when Adam Sandler was at the height of his career? Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, anyone? Well, thanks to the Maverick Theater, we can relive the 1998 Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore hit in the form of a play. The story of Robbie Hart, a down-and-out yet hopelessly lovable wedding singer, is being retold by writers Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy. The play is set to a new score of ’80s pop songs, with music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Beguelin. Watch Robbie get left at the altar, and then not-so-subtly share his pain and heartbreak along the wedding circuit.

Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 4 p.m. Starts: Feb. 18. Continues through April 9, 2011
