Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová of folk duo the Swell Season are no strangers to film. Audiences fell for the pair in 2007's Once, as they dove into love before viewers' eyes. That fated film won them an Oscar for Best Original Song and even a role on The Simpsons. After Once, the pair embarked on a non-stop two-year tour and had a film crew follow them around the world for a total of three years. The documentary, The Swell Season, is shot in black and white and feels alive, real and honest. Their roles in Once and real lives blur, but the ups and downs of love portrayed are crystal clear.
