The Phantom Tollbooth
There was once a boy named Milo who didnt know what to do with himselfnot just sometimes but always. Milo is bored. Until a magical tollbooth mysteriously appears in his room. After following instructions, he drives his car throughdoubtfully, of courseand winds up on an adventure in the Kingdom of Wisdom, eventually accepting a quest to rescue Princesses Rhyme and Reason in order to rid the kingdom of discord and disharmony. Along the way, Milo encounters Tock, a loyal ticking watchdog with the body of an alarm clock; the island of Conclusion (he got there by jumping); the demons on the Mountain of Ignorance; and all sorts of other things that dont quite make sensebut do. If youre a fan of the whimsical, the fantastical and the cleverthink Lewis Carroll and Antoine de Saint-Exupérythen youll love following Milo through this live stage version of Norton Justers classic, didactic childrens tale on, above all, the importance of imagination.
