The Ettes

The Ettes are a power trio powered by whatever was generating electricity in Detroit, New York City and even LA between 1967 and 1976, and between the three of them they figured out a sound somewhere between the Stooges and the Shangri-Las and then learned how to tour the world forever clad only in black leather and feeding only on excellent guitar fuzz. Their newest LP, Wicked Will, got a rare current release on former Long Beach label Sympathy for the Record Industry, which is now mostly hibernating up in Washington, and on top of that came a 45 showing how the Primitives and the Pleasure Seekers were almost the same thing. This is rock ‘n’ roll with the chrome stripped off—built to move fast, not just look fast.
