On their fifth release in 10 years, Bay Area metal veterans Totimoshi come with a slow, grinding crunch that shows surprising dexterity without losing any of the ominous touches that have made them the kind of band who can blow you off your bar stool with one well-placed riff.
Channeling everything from the nervous repetition of Shellac to the slithering buzz of the Jesus Lizard, Milagrosa (which was produced by Paige Hamilton of Helmet) finds Totimoshi merging their heft with a creepy reserve—which might make you cower under that bar stool after they’ve knocked you off it.
