Fresh from the release of their self-titled US debut (released May 11), the members of Sweethead take their sound back to the wild and gritty bar scene for which it was intended. This week, they come to Alex’s Bar with a distorted squall of rock riffage and sultry vocals tailor-made for Long Beach’s booze-filled shrine to the Day of the Dead. Founded by vocalist Serrina Sims and Queens of the Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, the band has already toured with Snow Patrol, Eagles of Death Metal and are set to join celebrated super group Them Crooked Vultures as they rumble through Europe this summer. So this may be your last chance to get some Sweethead for a while. We advise you not to miss out.
