Summer Bat Walk
Theyre a staple of any creepy movie, they eat bugs and rodents (equally scary creatures, if you ask us), and every girl is terrified of one getting caught in her hair. Bats are probably some of the most misunderstood and unappreciated creatures existing in the wilds of Orange County today. Take some time to learn about these friendly nighttime neighbors with the help of the Sea and Sage Audubon Society and local bat biologist Stephanie Remington, who guides you around Irvines marshlands and ponds to watch the sunset, listen to night sounds and locate two species of bats that come in small numbers for feeding. Really, theres absolutely no reason to be afraid.
