Written by Robert Harling, this dramedy dares even the toughest, most stoic folks to not shed a tear. Steel Magnolias, which made “blush” and “bashful” bona fide wedding colors, centers on the eccentric inhabitants of a small town in northwest Louisiana who regularly meet at Truvy’s Beauty Spot. The all-female cast of this OC-based production promises to bring all those sweet and tender, gut-wrenching and hysterical moments from the original film, but with the touching sincerity and emotional rawness only achieved by a live performance.
