Spanish Tapas Class

We're loving the lineup of cooking classes at Costa Mesa's Surfas Culinary District. The retail shop/cafe/gourmet grocer offers a constant rotating schedule of fun and quirky food-based seminars—everything from homemade cheese classes to chocolate workshops—and this evening they present a course on the perfect small plate, otherwise known as Spanish tapas. Join other hungry minds as a chef instructor explains the mysteries behind salt block searing, suggests tips for creating the ideal-consistency flan, discusses traditional Spanish ingredients, and creates a mouth-watering array of petite morsels for you to try. On the menu: Patatas Bravas with Spicy Aioli, Salt-Seared Pimenton Shrimp, Manchego and Piquillo Pepper Tortilla, and more. They may be small plates, but you should bring a very big appetite. Register now as space is limited.
