Sarah Chang

Imagine being a child prodigy like Sarah Chang—while other kids are practicing multiplication tables, you're at a renowned orchestra hall amongst some of the world's most talented musicians and all eyes are on you. But Chang, who made her debut at the age of eight with the New York Philharmonic, handles it like a pro. Now fully grown, the violin virtuoso treats her astonishing talent like it ain't no thing—go ahead and check out a few YouTube videos and watch the transgression from an adolescent in a quincenera dress to a woman as graceful and composed a performer as Chopin or Brahms themselves, a quality no doubt refined from playing with most of the major orchestras, and being called one of the top eight achieving females in the U.S. by Newsweek (she was 15 at the time). Don't miss her this week as she plays Segerstrom, and perhaps she'll bring with her the famous 1717 Guarneri del Gesu violin.
