Sans Merci

Johnna Adams’ play about the meeting between a young lesbian and the homophobic mother of her deceased girlfriend not only ushers in the second combined season of the Garage Theatre in Collision with Alive Theatre, but it’s also one of the few (if only) modern plays with an all female cast in which one or both of the women aren’t trying to get knocked up or land a beau. We’ve seen this setup before, but only with a gay son, so kudos to Adams for offering a long overdue perspective that’s also filled with humanitarian ideals, politics, and, most of all, love.

Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: April 4. Continues through April 26, 2014
