Queensryche Farewell Tour Starring Geoff Tate

It's the end of an era for old school metal fans—this is the final tour of Queensryche with Geoff Tate. The lead singer and founding member of the heavy metal band, Tate fronted the act for more than 30 years, and enjoyed major success in the late '80s and early '90s for their rock and concept albums. But it was one fateful night in April of 2012 when the other members of the band decided to fire both their fan club manager and band manager—who happened to be Tate's stepdaughter and wife, respectively. Two days later, at a soundcheck in Brazil, there was an argument, a brawl, and some destruction of property. This led to two versions of Queensryche—one with Tate and one with the remaining members, fronted by Todd La Torre. After a drawn-out legal battle about name rights, the official name of Queensryche will now go to Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield, Parker Lundgrenand and Todd La Torre. Consider this Tate's swan song, his final (legal) chance to tour under the name Queesryche.
