Its hard to be ironic in this post-Alanis Morrissette, post-Reality Bites world, but it appears thats what theyre going for in the name of the Ska is Dead tour. See, its a bunch of ska bands, and theyre trying to prove that ska is, in fact, actually not dead, despite what you may have suspected (its been a long time since the Mighty Mighty Bosstones had a hit, yknow?). First started in 2004, the fourth iteration of the tour comes to town with third-wavers including Riversides Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Toasters, Deals Gone Bad and San Diegos Buck-O-Nine (who had a hit with My Town about a dozen years ago). Skanking in 2009? If its going to happen anywhere, its here.
