Photographic Memory

As photography has slowly weaned film from its process, a great make-out opportunity has been lost to millions of teenagers: the darkroom. These days most people’s photographic experience involves a USB cable and a Costco membership, leaving film development to a handful of art students groping recklessly under a crimson, chemical glow. Thankfully this show, featuring thirteen local photographers, is celebrating the actual process of filmmaking: temperamental apertures, exposed film and other vaguely remembered nuisances of the late 20th century. Support these youthful enthusiasts as they salute photography by way of photography. And don’t forget to wind your film.
