Pageant of the Masters

Pageant of the Masters literally brings art to life through an onstage collection of “living pictures.” With the expert use of makeup and costume, people are transformed into the subjects of classical and contemporary works of art. The piece is then recreated before your eyes, with help of volunteers, props, and, of course, a little lighting. How they manage to stay that still for that long remains a mystery, even for a Pageant veteran. The theme for this year’s show is “The Big Picture,” a tribute to classic art that inspired filmmakers. And as tradition goes, every Pageant of the Masters ends with a recreation of “The Last Supper” by Leonardo da Vinci. Before and after the show, enjoy the adjacent art festival featuring the works of many talented local artists.
