Pacific Hurt

What’s in a name? Well, if you’re a band, kind of a lot. At one point, Santa Ana’s Aushua seemed destined for major-breakthrough success: touring nationally, scoring KROQ airplay and winning Best Song at the 2009 OC Music Awards for “No Harm Done.” However, life got in the way—including a brutal fall 2008 attack on lead singer Nathan Gammill that led to the cancelation of their scheduled appearance on Last Call With Carson Daly —and the band, now a five-piece, are looking for a fresh start as Pacific Hurt. Their very first show will be opening up for South County’s the Union Line, and Gammill says they’ll be playing all new material.
