Nonstop Dancing

With this four-day run at the Barclay, Saint Joseph Ballet celebrates 25 years of dance. Armed with a cast of 200 dancers and alumni, Unstoppable is meant to remind its audiences of the past while simultaneously pointing us toward our inevitable connection to the future-whatever that means. What we do know is that Saint Joseph's Ballet is a nonprofit organization that provides dance, academic and family programs to low-income youth in Orange County. As it turns out, dancing provides a positive alternative to other, uh, distractions of youth. And it really works. Graduates from the school have proven to attend college at a higher rate than their peers. Celebrated contemporary-dance choreographers Mark Haim, Scott Wells and Melanie Rios Glaser fuse the past and present while-like students and alumni of Saint Joseph-focusing on the beauty and success of tomorrow.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2:30 p.m. Starts: May 29. Continues through June 2, 2008
